Superman takes the Brainiac probe to the fortress, and analyzes it with Supergirl. They review some of the Brainiacs Superman has met, but Supergirl tells him they all were probes, and that he's never met the real Brainiac. Supergirl is so spooked she destroys the probe with her heat vision. Superman then eats a meal with his foster parents, and tells them he is going to track down Brainiac. He uses a ship to travel to Brainiac's current location: the planet Larroo. He stops the probes from attacking the citizens there, but the city there is surrounded by a bottle, and taken into Brainiac's ship. The ship then fires a weapon into the sun of Larroo, and it then explodes, destroying the planet. Superman, unconscious but alive, is taken into Brainiac's ship.
